Rodney 'Rippy' W. Kriess

Rodney W. (Rippy) Kriess, age 46 of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Born in Butler March 28, 1972 to Ronald Kriess and Marcella 'Sally' Weiland Kriess.

He was a 1990 graduate of Karns City High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves honorably serving his country for 4 years. Currently he was working for Etzel Masonry were he was always one of the hardest workers of a crew. If asked to work 10 hours, he would push to work 12 hours to get the job completed.

He is survived by his daughter Kylee Kriess, whom he loved with every fiber of his being; his parents, Ronald and Marcella 'Sally' Kriess; his very special aunt and uncle, Lou Ann 'EA' and Phil Summerville; 11 brothers and sisters: Ronald (Debbie) Kriess  Jr. of Freeport; Rhonda (Randy) Black of Butler; Michel (Jon) Fiscus of Adamstown, Maryland; Robb (Anne) Kriess of Renfrew, PA; Cindy (Tom) Harruff of Elwood City, PA; Rick Kriess Sr. of Rimersburg, PA; Roger (Veronica) Kriess of Land O' Lake, Florida;  Cristal (David) Elder of Butler, PA; Dawn (Mike) Shunk of North Washington, PA; Lori Kriess of New Port Richey, Florida; Denise (Nick) Neff of Chicora, PA/ Goddaughter, Angela Kriess; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his long-time girlfriend Korie Thompson, infant daughter Rhiannon Kriess, infant son Logan Kriess, Maternal grandparents, Francis and Barbara Weiland, and Paternal grandparents, William and Gertrude Kriess.

Family and friends of Rodney W. (Rippy) Kriess who passed away on August 15, 2018  will be received at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery and Main Streets, Downtown Chicora, PA. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018  from 3-7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Rick Thompson officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by Chicora, East Brady and Brady's Bend American Legions.
