Richard G. Barnhart

Richard G.Barnhart, age 78 of Chicora, Pennsylvania passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 surrounded by his devoted family in the Butler Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness with Parkinson Disease. Born November 4, 1940 in Chicora, son of the late Steve and Elsie Jane Heeter Barnhart.

He was in the United States Army Reserves. He was retired from Penreco in Karns City, PA. He enjoyed working on cars, camping, hunting, fishing, and being with his grandchildren.

Survived by his wife Adele Shearer Barnhart whom he married August 14, 1959. A son Brent (Candi) Barnhart from Chicora, a daughter Dawn M. Barnhart in Beaver Falls. PA. Grandchildren: Tyler James Barnhart, and Cory Michael Barnhart A1/C of Lackland AFB, Lackland, Texas. Brothers: Leroy (Mary K.) Barnhart of Dover, PA; William Barnhart of Petrolia, PA; Jeffery L. Barnhart of Titusville, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Cindy René who died in 1963.

Friends received at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, Corner of 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, Chicora, PA 2-4 and 6-9 Tuesday, January 15, 2019 , visitation and funeral services will be  Wednesday 10-11 a m at Grace Baptist Church, 527 Butler Road, Kittanning, PA. officiated by Pastor Daniel Kaminski.

Private interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora, PA

Military Honors will be provided by Chicora, Brady’s Bend, and E. Brady’s American Legions at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday
