Mary I. Froeschle, 74 of Chicora, Pennsylvania, died December 27, 2020 in Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, PA. She was born September 20, 1946 in Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Thomas W. Keating and the late Marcella Schwyzer Keating.
She and her husband George operated a trucking company and leased it to Daily Express in Harrisburg, PA. After George’s death she worked 6 years as a bar tender at Zimas Bar until it’s closing in 2004.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Catherine Froeschle of Chicora; 3 sons: Richard and Christina Safranek of Chicora; Andrew and Cherylynn Safranek of Bruin, PA, and Michael and Monica Safranek of Florida; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosalie Keating of Chicora, Maureen Clemens of Virginia, and Cecelia and Bill Michaels of Amarillo, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband George Froeschle whom she married February 14, 1976, and her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 sons, Joseph Shamonsky and George Froeschle, 2 brothers, David and Thomas Keating, and a grandson, Bernard Safranek.
At the families request there will be no public visitation for Mary Froeschle. A private committal will be officiated by Reverend John Pistorius. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Steighner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Chicora, PA. 16025, to help defray funeral expenses.
