Berten D. Burnside

Berten D. Burnside, age 68 of Chicora, Pennsylvania, entered heaven on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at home after a years-long battle with heart disease.

Bert was born in Oakland Township, on Monday, March 22, 1954 the son of the late Charles and Verna Burnside. He attended Butler High School, then entered the Navy and was a submarine sailor until his retirement.

Bert married Courtney Leech on Saturday November 21, 1987 in San Diego, California, where he was stationed. He was known by his friends and family for his wit and passion for studying and teaching God’s Word.

Bert is survived by his wife Courtney, his brother- Richard and (Chris) Burnside; sons: Michael  (Abigail) and Joshua, and grandchildren Michael, Caleb, James, and Nirvana.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Fared Drive, Butler, PA 16001.

Friends will be received 10 to 11 AM Wednesday, October 19, 1922 at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Fared Drive, Butler, PA. The Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM with Reverend Andy Wills, Officating.
