Richard 'Neil' Smith, age 71 of Bruin, PA died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 23, 2024 of natural causes.  He was born in Butler, PA to the late Robert G. Smith and the late Eleanor C. McGarvey.

He was a 1971 graduate of Karns City High School, Karns City, PA.

He had many hobbies; he could be found happily working on his cars,  enjoyed being with his family, and the unconditional love and companionship of his cats.

He was a kind and wise man with lots of knowledge, who would help anyone.

Richard retired after 35 years as a Pipefitter for WITCO   CHEMICAL in Petrolia, PA.

He is survived by a daughter Alisa C. Buzzard of Chicora, PA. A grandson, Austin Gauge Buzzard of Chicora; a brother, Michael J. and Darla Smith of East Brady, PA. 2 brothers-in-law; Rod Sheakley of Petrolia; John Emery of Bruin, PA. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Gale Smith and 2 sisters; Linda Sheakley and Pam Emery.

Friends will be received at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME in Chicora, PA, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 25,2024

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Steighner Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Wallace, Pastor of the Chicora Alliance Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut, PA on Tuesday 11 A.M.
