Patricia "Pat" Ann McElhaney Verner, 76, of Hornertown, Petrolia, passed away unexpectedly the evening of Sunday November 19, 2023 from injuries resulting from a fall.

Born Monday March 10, 1947, in Sewickley, PA, she is the daughter of the late Francis "Fuzz" and Rita Deemer..

Pat graduated from Moniteau High School in West Sunbury, PA in 1965.  She then studied as a beautician, and spent many years as a homemaker raising her 3 children; later she obtained her CDL, driving school bus for Shriver Bus Company in the Karns City School District for 27 years before retiring in 2019.  she was an avid Steelers fan, loved crafting, camping at the river, taking RV trips all over the country, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Harry "Bill" Verner; her brother, Jim "Skip" McElhaney; her sister Margaret "Peg" Bowser, and her grandson, Craig "Craigy" Sampson III.

Pat is survived by her son, Todd Verner and his wife Mary of Butler, PA ; son Troy Verner of Petrolia, PA; daughter, Samanth (Verner) Usher and her husband Karl of Vermont; grandchildren Tori, Todd, Baylee, Tyler, Riley, Nicholas, Caleb, Nathaniel, Cole, and great-grandchildren Keaton and Emilia.

Arrangements are being made by Steighner Funeral Home of Chicora, PA.

A service and inurnment at Brady's Bend Cemetery in East Brady, PA will be planned later in the spring.

A private burial will be beside her husband in Brady's Bend Cemetery, Brady's Bend PA.
