Nancy J. (Peterman) Long, 95, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was born Sunday, August 23, 1931. She was the wife of the late William M. Long, Sr. whom she married in Penn Hills on June 22, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Robert J. Peterman and Helen Hays Peterman, sister of the late Robert E. Peterman and Helen Hershey and infant bother Michael. She was the last of her immediate family.

Nancy grew up in Penn Hills and lived there most of her life. Nancy owned and operated Nancy Long's Draperfy business in Penn Hils for 15 years. She also lived in Flinton and Chicora, PA.

Nancy was a member to Mater Dolorosa R.C. Church in Chicora, PA. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and Christian Mothers. She was a Eucharistic minister and sang in the choir.

LONG: Friends of Nancy J. Long, who died Sunday, September 27, 2026 will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Thomas M. Steighner Funeral Home, 111 East Slippery Rock Street, Chicora, PA.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 12:30 pm (NOTE: Time changed and is different than what is in the Butler Eagle) at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora. Lunch will be provided after mass. Burial will be held at St. Agustine Cemetery in Dysart, PA.

Flower and memorial contributions are accessepted. If memorial contributions, Nancy would prefer contributions to be made to the Amercia Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
