Matthew Edward Haid, age 79, of Chicora, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, January 3, 2015 at home.

He was born February 24, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA. The son of the late

Father:                      Edward Andrew Haid, Jr.

Mother:                    Catherine Cindrich Haid

Matthew was a member of Mater Dolorosa Church in Chicora. A veteran of the US ARMY serving as an E4-T from 1957-1959 in Germany where he met and married.

Wife:                          Caroline Wagner

Married:                   April 10, 1959 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany

Died:                          February 3, 2009

When he returned home he worked at Pullman Standard for 20 years and Donegal Township for 10 years.

Matthew enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was known for his smart wit especially at (Sunday dinners).

He is survived by his children:

Grandchildren:       Corinne, Michael Woodward---Hilliards

Sister:                        Patricia Palmer and her companion, John Hoffman---Pittsburgh

Brother:                    Edward Haid---Chicora

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, and a brother John Haid, who died May 10, 2013.
