Mary Alice Moore, 81 of Chicora, PA passed away Thursday morning, September 14, 2017, in the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler following a lingering illness.  Born in Bradford, PA Wednesday,  July 22, 1936 the daughter of the late Ralph William Burkett and the late Glenda L. Campbell Burkett.

She married Lester L. Moore Sr. July 26, 1952 who died September 3, 2016.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, puzzle books, her dog-Doc Holiday, and watching cooking channels.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora.

Mary Alice is survived by: 3 daughters: Patricia and David Stroup of Chicora, Karen and Joseph Machurak of Karns City, Cindy and Mark Cumberland of Chicora; 5 sons: William and Cathy Moore of Butler, Ronald and Diana Moore of Chicora, Rodger and Katrina Moore of Chicora, Brian Moore of Chicora, Lester L. Moore Jr. of Chicora. 27 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Eileen and Dean Jewart of Chicora, a brother John Burkett of Chicora, Sisters-in-law: Evelyn McDivett of Chicora, Bertie Smith, and Arabelle Moore, and a brother-in-law William Ekis.

Preceded in death by 6 brothers-in-law, and 4 sisters-in-law.

Friends received Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at STEIGHNER Funeral HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, Downtown Chicora, Pa. and 10 to time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, PA. officiated by Reverend Karl Schock Pastor and Mary Alice's  niece Reverend Kathy McDivett Davis. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
