Obituary
Mary Elizabeth "Aunt Toots" (Rumbaugh) Hauck, 87, of Butler went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 2 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on June 6, 1926, in Timblin, Jefferson County, Pa., to the late Simon Henry Rumbaugh and Minnie Myrtilla (Sipe) Rumbaugh.
Mrs. Hauck worked as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1977, to be a homemaker. She had previously worked as an electronic technician at Preston Laboratory. Mrs. Hauck also worked at Castle Rubber and arranged tours at Tanglewood.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, traveling and bird watching. Her favorite bird was the Purple Martin. Mrs. Hauck was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed camping at Holiday Camplands in Andover, Ohio.
Mrs. Hauck is survived by her son, William C. Hauck Jr. and his wife, Susie (Moniot), of Butler; her grandson, William C. Hauck III; her three granddaughters, Jaime Mahood of Butler, Jessica Winkleman and her husband, Matt, of Colorado and Tina Davies of Butler; her six great-grandchildren, Kamren and Karisma, Jada and Matteo and Dayton and Ethan; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Hauck Sr., who she married on June 30, 1951, and who passed away on Feb. 16, 1998; her granddaughter, Candice Marie Hauck; her three brothers, Glenn Rumbaugh, Clarence Henry Rumbaugh and Clayton Earl Rumbaugh; and her sister, Mildred Ida Weisenstein.
Hauck - The friends of Mary Elizabeth "Aunt Toots" (Rumbaugh) Hauck, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert C. Huber of the North Street Christian Church officiating. The burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
The memorial donations are suggested to the Salvation Army, 313 W. Cunningham St., Butler, PA 16001.
