Loyal Clifford Fisher, 93, of Chicora passed away Monday at VA Butler Healthcare.
Born April 7, 1922, in Penn Township, the son of the late Frank Fisher and Anna Double Fisher.
He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was on Normandy Beach on D-Day, where he drove heavy artillery.
He was a member of the Saint Wendelin Catholic Church, Carbon Center. He enjoyed farming and fixing tractors and other farm machinery and equipment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a life member of the Chicora VFW.
He married his wife, Genevieve M. Carbon Fisher, who preceded him in death on April 30, 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcella Fisher of Butler; his son, Edward Fisher of Chicora; his grandchildren, Beverly Gold, Michelle and Brian Webb, Clifford Gold, Lisa and Geoff Worheit, Larry and Andria Fisher, Eddy Fisher and Phoebe Fisher; his great-grandchildren, Taylor Fisher, Dedon Worheit, Landon Fisher, Katie Fisher, Damon Rogers and Aliyah Rogers; and his sister, Edith Carbon.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sons, Joseph Fisher and Larry "King" Fisher.
FISHER - Friends of Loyal Clifford Fisher, who died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, corner of Main and East Slippery Rock streets, Chicora.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Wendelin Catholic Church, 210 Saint Wendelin Road, Butler, with the Rev. Matt McClaine officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the Chicora VFW, the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion and the 99th Readiness Command from Coraopolis.
He will be laid to rest at Saint Wendelin Catholic Cemetery, Saint Wendelin Road, Butler.
