John R. Williams, age 90, of Buena Vista, Chicora, PA died Sunday, March 20, 2016 in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia Home, Cabot.

Born in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA, November 3, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. James Rodger Williams

He is a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in W.W.II and then a member of the National Guard.

He is a member of the Chicora VFW. After being discharged from the Navy, he worked at U.S. Steel in Braddock, PA for 32 years as a laborer.

He is survived by his wife: Glenna I. Martin Williams, whom he married October 25, 1986.

Daughters: Donna Schindler of Houston, Texas,  Genevieve Davoli of Paige, Texas, Darlene and John Miller of Slippery Rock, PA.

Sons: Reverend Robert L. and Peggy Martin of Valencia, PA, James G. and Cookie Martin of Parker, PA.

11 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great-granddaughter

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, grandson, and a son-in-law.

Friends will be received: 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Main and E. Slippery Rock Streets, Downtown Chicora, PA

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME with his son Reverend Robert L. Martin officiating.

Military Honors provided by: Chicora V.F.W. and Chicora and Brady's Bend Amercan Legion and the 99th Readiness Command from Coraopolis.

Cremation will follow.
