John M. Fallen Sr., 68, of West Sunbury died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. Born Dec. 20, 1934, in North Washington, he was the son of Milton and Dorothy Thompson Fallen. He was retired from Hutchinson's Dry Cleaners in Butler. Mr. Fallen was a member of the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in West Sunbury. He coached Little League in West Sunbury for years and was a scout leader for the West Sunbury Boy Scouts for years. Mr. Fallen enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Charles (Deborah) Roxberry of Hilliards, Mrs. Clyde (Jenny) McNeish and Mrs. John (Darla) Kline, both of West Sunbury, Mrs. Brent (Cynthia) Barnhart of Chicora, Dorothy Campbell of Petrolia and Mrs. Dave (Joy) Webber of Ellington, Mo.; and three sons, John Fallen Jr. and Mark Fallen, both of West Sunbury, and Norman Fallen of Evans City. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Leitem Fallen, who died Oct. 5, 2002, and whom he married June 13, 1959. Also preceding him in death was a daughter and two grandsons. FALLEN - Friends of John M. Fallen Sr., who died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in West Sunbury. The Rev. Albert Koser, church pastor, will officiate.
