James G. Weiland, 56, of Butler passed away at 1:55 p.m. Saturday at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer of the pancreas.
He was employed by Beth Barricades in Gibsonia, making traffic signs until his illness.
He was a member of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in North Oakland, Chicora.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting and going to car shows.
Born on Aug. 21, 1958, in Butler, he is survived by his father, Adolph Weiland; his mother, Ruth Osche Weiland; his sister, Lynnette Alessandroni of Butler; his brothers, Brian Weiland and his wife, Erin, of Denver, Pa., and Darrin Weiland and his wife, Lia, of Dubois, and his several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Tammy Weiland.

Blessing services will be at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home officiated by the Father Rick Thompson, pastor of Saint Joseph Church. James will be laid to rest in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, North Oakland, Chicora.
