Inez Schmidt, 99, died on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Chicora Medical Center, Chicora, PA.

Inez was born January 11, 1927 in Butler, PA. She was the daughter of the late Carl Rider and Edith Cross Rider. She married James L. Schmidt, Sr. on June 7, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2006.

In her earlier years she had been employed at the Moonlight Mushroom Mine in Worthington, PA. She also worked a short time at Bobbie Brooks Shirt Factory in Butler, PA.

Inez is survived by 2 sons:

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, a brother, a daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law, five brothers-in-law, and a granddaugher, Charity.

SCHMIDT: A graveside service was officiated by Pastor Dave West, Pastor of the GraceWay Community Lutheran Church, Butler, PA. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Chicora, PA
