Diane Cummings Barnhart, 93, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025 with her family at her side. She was the daughter of Burwell Cummings and Anna Jane Walker.

Born on December 24, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Diane spent her early years on her grandparents' farm in Bruin, Pennsylvania, where she developed her lifelong appreciation for family, music, and faith. She later attended the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University), majoring in piano and music education.

In 1955, Diane married Donal Lee Barnhart of Chicora, Pennsylvania, and together they built a loving home in McMurray, where they raised their three sons: David Lee Barnhart, Douglas Clyde Barnhart, and Richard William Barnhart.

Diane shared her gifts generously—as a devoted mother and grandmother, a dedicated music educator, and a faithful member of several Presbyterian congregations, including Peters Creek Presbyterian Church, Finleyville Presbyterian Church, and First Presbyterian Church of Washington, Pennsylvania. She served as the church organist for years. Her deep faith found practical expression in service to others through church ministries at the Washington County Homes for the Aged and the Interfaith Hospitality Network, where she offered compassion and support to those in need.  She was  committed accompanist for many local choral and musical theater groups and taught many youth to play the piano.

She lived her final years in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She is grateful for the loving care she received from caregivers at the Ridge on Foothill Assisted Living Community.

She is survived by her sons, David, Douglas, and Richard; daughters-in-laws Mary Barnhart and Jill Barnhart; and four beloved grandchildren, Noah, Jonathan, Grace, and Abigail.

Diane will be remembered for her warmth, grace, and steadfast devotion to her family, faith, and service to others.
