Clyde A. Rodgers, 83, of Butler passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at 10:05 p.m. Saturday in Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo following an illness.
Born in Butler on June 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph Rodgers and Marie Geibel Rodgers.
He had worked for Castle Rubber in East Butler.
He was a veteran of the U.S. ARMY, proudly serving his country from November 13, 1952 to October 22, 1954 during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Shenafelt Rodgers; his daughter, Pamela and Michel Beachem of Surprise, Ariz.; his son, Tony and Cathy Rodgers of Aiken, S.C.; his brothers, Paul and Evelyn Rodgers of Butler, Carl and Kathy Rodgers of Alaska, Rege and Margaret Rodgers of Chicora, Gerald Rodgers of Butler, Edward and Carla Rodgers of Butler, Leo E. and Helen Rodgers of Butler; his sister, Mary Butler of Portersville; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Patrick M. Rodgers, and his brother, George Rodgers.
Rodgers - The friends of Clyde A. Rodgers, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, downtown Chicora.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Rick Thompson, pastor at Mater Dolorosa Church, followed by full military honors provided by the Chicora VFW, and Chicora and East Brady American Legions. Burial will be private.
