Barbara M. Umstead,  age 78 of Chicora, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly Friday August 29, 2025 at her Chicora home. She was born in Kaylor, PA. May 25,1947 the daughter of Raymond T. Craig and Vera G. Barnhart Craig.

Barbara married Richard E. Umstead on July 19, 1974 who died May 6, 2016.

She was a member of Butler Dog Training and the Chicora Women of the Moose. Barbara was in sales and retail and worked 10 years at the Rent-A- Center until her retirement in 2010, she also worked at Hills for 15 years and 3 years at Ames Department Store.

She is survived by: Daughter, Angela Stahlman of Pittsburgh, PA.

Granddaughter: Brianna Yzkanin and husband, Chris Yzkanin of San Diego, California.

Great-grandchild: Jordan Yzkanin, a sister, Eileen  Ballance; a brother, William and (Mary Lou) Craig; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by husband, Richard E. Umstead, a sister Eleanor Peters, and a brother, Earl Craig. Brother-in-law, Lehman Ballance.

Friends will be received Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Thomas M. STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock Street, Chicora, PA. from 6-8 p.m. Private interment will be next to her husband in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora, PA.
