Marjorie Junker, 83 of Chicora, PA passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 30, 2016 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born in Pittsburgh Friday, February 3, 1933 the daughter of the late William Russell and Edith Weinhaus Russell.
She and her husband started Junkers Greenhouse in 1968 and then opened Junkers Flower Shop in 1978. She was very active in Saint Paul’s Community Church of Christ and a member of the church choir, a member of the women’s guild, and a former elder of the church; she also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a treasurer of East Brady Senior Citizens and treasurer of the Salvation Army, Chicora, Unit.
She is survived by her husband Bruce C. Junker whom she married November 26, 1952. She was a very loving and giving mother and grandmother and is also survived by Daughters, Elaine and Todd Marshall of Webster Groves, Missouri; Karen and David Conrad of Valrico, Florida; Brenda and David Bly of Karns City, PA. A son Bruce K. and Kathy Junker of Butler, PA. 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Westman.
Friends received at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery and Main Streets, downtown Chicora, PA 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, October, 4th and Wednesday 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul Community Church, 2172 State Route 268, Chicora, PA. Officiated by Reverend Ryan Lucas, pastor. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, State route 268, Chicora, PA.
